Wynonna Judd Early Years
On May 30, 1964, in Ashland, Kentucky, Christina Claire Ciminella became Wynonna Judd. Naomi Judd, a singer, was her mother. She received the last name Ciminella in honor of Judd’s biological father, Charles Jordan, who passed away in 2000, and whose mother soon married after being dumped by her fiancĂ©.
Ashley Judd, a famous actress, is her younger half-sister. Although Naomi and Michael separated by 1972, the family had already migrated to Los Angeles. Wynonna and Naomi were living in Kentucky in 1976, where Wynonna was influenced by the country music her mother was always listening to and had recently started to play the guitar after receiving one for Christmas.

Wynonna Judd Individual Life
In 1996, Judd wed Arch Kelly III. In December 1994, Elijah Judd, their son, was born. The fact that she had a child “out of wedlock” at this time had an impact on her career because the majority of her fans were traditional. In November 2003, she wed D.R. Roach, who became her second husband. Roach was detained in 2007 for sexually assaulting a kid under the age of 13.
Five days later, she made her divorce petition. On June 10, 2012, Judd tied the knot with Cactus Moser, her longtime partner and the drummer for the band Highway 101, in her Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee, residence. Two months later, Moser was seriously hurt in a motorbike accident in South Dakota, necessitating the amputation of his left leg.
Wynonna Judd Solo Career
Following the breakup of the duo, Wynonna Judd obtained a solo contract with MCA Records and began performing as Wynonna. She debuted her first single, “She Is His Only Need,” off her self-titled solo debut album at the American Music Awards in January 1992, during her first solo television performance. The song, along with the album’s following three singles, “I Saw the Light,” “My Strongest Weakness,” and “No One Else on Earth,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country singles charts that year.
Five consecutive Top Ten successes on the country charts were produced by her platinum-selling second album, “Tell Me Why,” including “Only Love,” “Is It Over Yet,” “Rock Bottom,” and the penned by her song “Girls with Guitars.” Tell Me Why” by Mary Chapin Carpenter. 1993 saw Wynonna take home the ACM Female Artist of the Year honor. Naomi, Wynonna’s mother, collected the medal on her behalf because Wynonna was unable to attend the ceremony.
